I love lipsticks! If there is a new color available, whether it's MAC, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Dose of Colors, I am on it! This is awesome for my makeup collection, but not so economical when it comes to me purchasing products for my makeup kit that I use for clients. MAC lipsticks are now $17 a pop and Anastasia Beverly Hill's liquid lipsticks (amazing, by the way lol) are $20. Makeup lovers and artists alike are always looking for the perfect dupes for the more expensive makeup options that are out there. A dupe is simply a cheaper makeup item, in this case lipstick, that is very similar, if not an exact duplicate of its pricier counterpart.
ColourPop cosmetics has done a great job of offering some cheaper lipstick alternatives that are shockingly close to some of the colors you will find offered by MAC. The lippie stix and the matching lippie pencils are $5 each! Interested yet lol? They also recently started offering the now popular liquid lipsticks and they are only $6. I purchased 9 lippie stix and 5 lip pencils. The lippie stix that I purchased are Pinch (light, pinky beige), Ellarie (deep, sultry cranberry), Grind (vivid, blue violet), Toucan (bright, pinky red coral), Fighter (perfect, true vibrant red), Lumiere (dusty, mauve pink), Heart On (bright, cool toned magenta), Leather (deep, blackened violet) and Pitch (blackened, chocolate brown). The lip pencils that I purchased are Brink (warm, dusty taupe), Bossy (classic, blue red), Feminist (black, purple), Heart On (bright, cool toned magenta), Pitch (blackened, chocolate brown). All of the lippie stix I purchased were a matte finish, however ColourPop's definition of matte is definitely different from some of the other matte lipsticks I have tried. This can be a good or bad thing. Matte lipsticks can be extremely drying. If you purchase a matte formula from this line, you can expect it not to be extremely drying. Some of them even have a little shine to them. If you prefer a more true matte lipstick, I would still purchase ColourPop and maybe just blot your lips with some translucent powder to take away the shine. I have taken pictures wearing the lippie stix in natural lighting. I will also list my favorites and some possible dupes. Favorites Fighter-advertised as a true red, but has a hint of orange imo. Still a beautiful color! Think MAC Lady Danger or Dangerous Heart on-really close dupe to Mac's Flat Out Fabulous! Ellarie-reminiscent of Mac's Diva Grind-almost identical dupe to Mac's Heroine Leather Lumiere-think Kiley Jenner mauve-nude lip Pitch-pretty true brown, reminds me of Lime Crime's Salem Least Favorites: Toucan-beautiful color, but requires multiple applications to get the true effect of the pigmentation Pinch-this "barely there" nude is perfect for someone who is not not into bold lip colors. As for the lip pencils, I love them all equally! Feminist reminds me of a slightly darker version of Mac's Nightmoth. The Bossy Lip Pencil reminds me of Mac's Cherry or Ruby Woo lip pencil. The lip pencils have great pigmentation and they go on very smoothly. There are a lot of other options of colors and finishes offered by ColourPop Cosmetics. Which ones will you try? ![]() I'm not here to brag, because we're all curlfriends, right? Ok, cool. So, a lot of times when I go out or I'm just out and about running errands, women will ask me, who did your brows? I smile, because secretly, I take a LOT of pride in my brows. I think they are the foundation of a beautifully made face. Many times, when I'm asked about my brows, they haven't been threaded in weeks or I have only been removing stray hairs with tweezers. Now I want to share with all of my curlfriends exactly, what I do to get brows like you see in my pictures. Check out the video below! ![]() Don't be afraid to experiment with bold lip colors this fall. I am a self-proclaimed lip stick lover. There's nothing sexier than a woman who isn't afraid to throw on some lipstick! My favorite at the moment is this sultry, super chic, deep plum color called Yung Rapunxel by MAC. Line your lips with Night Moth lipliner (MAC) and then fill it in with Yung Rapunxel. What I like most about this color is that it almost goes on like a lip gloss. It's super shiny. What's your favorite fall lip color? |
