Shea Butter Whip

Picture
Many naturalistas have their own recipe for this uber-moisturizing emulsion.  Here's mine.

Shea Butter (room temperature)
1 tablespoon of jojoba oil
1 tablespoon of grapeseed oil
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1 tablespoon of Vitamin E oil

Whip these ingredients together using an electric mixer.  Whip until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.  Using shea butter that is at room temperature makes it easier to reduce lumps.  This shea butter whip can be used for twisting, coiling, braiding or simply moisturizing.  Feel free to manipulate the oils used to form the shea butter whip that is perfect for your hair type.

Daily Moisturizer

This moisturizer can be used all over! I put it on my legs, feet, elbows, hair, pretty much my entire body.  It leaves my skin very soft to the touch and it also adds a nice sheen to old twist outs or curly fros that I am attempting to revive.

Grab a small container, fill it up halfway with coconut oil and then fill the remainder of the container with your shea butter whip.  Stir it up with a spoon until it reaches a uniform consistency.  That's it!! This is super easy to do once you have a your shea butter whip as a base.
